Kitchen Assistant – Care Home

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and caring Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team in a welcoming care home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a supportive environment and takes pride in preparing and serving nutritious meals that make a positive difference to residents' daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Chef and kitchen team with the preparation of meals and snacks.
Support with food preparation, meal plating, and serving.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Ensure all food safety and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
Help maintain accurate cleaning schedules and kitchen records.
Support catering requirements for special events and functions when needed.

About You

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or care environment is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
A positive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
A genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of older people.
