About the Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a receptionist to join the team based in Mersea Island Medical Practice. This role is offered on a part-time basis, for 18 hours a week, worked over 2 days.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

booking appointments,
greeting patients,
answering queries from patients and outside agencies and/or signposting to appropriate members of staff,
updating patient records,
processing correspondence and liaising with patients using various types of communication methods.

About the Candidate

All applicants should have:

excellent communication skills, both written and oral,
a good understanding of IT
experienc of EMIS would be an advantage, but training will be given
experience of a busy reception/public environment/providing customer service
the flexibility to cover other shifts
experience of working in a general practice - this would be an advantage but training will be given to a suitable candidate
a good standard of education including maths and English
good social skills
a friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors either in person or over the telephone.
