Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Cleaner to join our busy hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced setting within the hospitality industry. This position offers valuable experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and customer service.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff
Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, and storage spaces
Organising and storing clean items appropriately for easy access during service
Supporting the team with waste disposal and recycling procedures
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Assisting with stock organisation and inventory checks as required
Supporting front-of-house staff with serving or other hospitality duties when needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is desirable
Familiarity with health and safety standards within a kitchen setting is beneficial
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or early mornings as required
