Full-time, Permanent role | Monday-Friday | 9:00am-5:00pm
West Thurrock, RM20 3FN
Office-based, with filming days out
£32,000-£38,000 per year, depending on capability
About the role:
This is a hands-on creative role with a front-row seat to the behind-the-scenes of a growing business.
You’ll work directly with the CEO and Head of Brand & Creative, getting access to the real moments that make the business what it is - meetings, trips, warehouse activity, deliveries, conversations, decisions, problems and wins - and helping turn them into content people actually want to watch.
A big part of the role is taking hours of unscripted footage and finding the story inside it. Around 60-70% of the role will initially focus on video editing and storytelling, with the rest covering filming, photography, short-form content, graphics and other creative projects across the wider group.
You won’t just be handed a content calendar and told what to post. We want someone with taste, ideas and a point of view - someone who can spot something worth creating before they’re told exactly what to make.
What you’ll be doing:
- Reviewing significant volumes of raw, unscripted footage and identifying the moments worth keeping.
- Turning footage into engaging long-form YouTube content and short-form videos.
- Finding the story, shaping the narrative and making sensible decisions around pacing, music, emotion and structure.
- Creating YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and other short-form content.
- Supporting filming days, including basic camera, lighting, sound and framing.
- Taking photographs and creating product photography.
- Creating clean, engaging graphics and campaign assets.
- Spotting content opportunities without waiting for a perfectly written brief.
- Helping develop content across Building Materials Wholesale.
- Supporting creator collaborations and product-led content.
- Creating educational content around building materials, products and applications.
- Creating behind-the-scenes content that shows the people and personalities behind the business.
- Helping showcase what actually happens behind the scenes at Building Materials Wholesale - from our warehouse and operations to sales, deliveries and the people who make the business work.
- Keeping footage, projects, versions and deadlines organised.
- Making sure equipment, sound, footage and final exports are checked properly before delivery.

- Understands that good editing is about storytelling, not just putting clips together.

- Is organised and reliable with files, projects and deadlines.
- Takes feedback well and genuinely improves from it.
- Is comfortable experimenting with different creative approaches and new tools.
