Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our tea Room. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, preparing high-quality dishes, and maintaining exceptional food safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about baking and eager to develop their baking expertise within a professional hospitality environment. The role involves working closely with senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen functions and delivering outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and cooking, baking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring consistency and quality.
Support food production processes, including plating dishes and decorating cakes to meet presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety regulations.
Contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen by managing multiple tasks during busy service periods.
Supervise junior team members when required, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth team management.
Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and hygiene practices.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
Support the team during service hours, including serving dishes when necessary, to enhance guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment or hospitality setting.
Knowledge of food production techniques, cooking methods, and presentation skills.
Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Passion for baking arts with a keen interest in developing further skills within a recognised establishment.
Previous experience in high end restaurant or hospitality environments is highly desirable but not essential for entry-level candidates eager to learn.

This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to advance their culinary career within a supportive team environment that values professionalism, creativity, and excellence in hospitality services.

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
