Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide. We have a great opportunity for a Excavation & Reinstatement Operatives to support our long term street lighting maintenance contract covering Kent. This position is based from our Sittingbourne office. Key activities <ul> <li>Working in connection with the installation and decommissioning of lighting equipment including signs, bollards, street lights and earth matts for EV chargers.</li> <li>Understanding STATS plans for excavation works and being able to read the electrical LV/HV drawings in being able to locate underground utilities for LV jointing activities</li> <li>The use of a CAT & Genny, to be able to avoid and dig around underground utilities</li> <li>Excavation work for DNO New Service joint bays, transfer bays & disconnection bays for column, bollard and sign installations. </li> <li>COPS2 Training will be required in undertaking the excavation of joint bays and locating and digging around existing utilities. </li> <li>Use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles (including HGV) associated with the role</li> <li>Providing support to skilled and specialist operatives</li> <li>Carryout reinstatement works of all surface types i.e. modular, tarmac or slab to HAUC specification with COPS2 handling the reinstatement around DNO service joints. Hot Lay Tarmac may be required on certain sites for final reinstatement</li> <li>Carrying out driving, delivery and general yard duties</li> <li>Working in a safe manner and in accordance with Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures</li> <li>Complying with operational working practices and associated method statements & risk assessments for the tasks being carried out</li> <li>Taking full ownership for personal Health & Safety responsibilities</li> <li>Ensuring Full PPE is worn at all times</li> <li>Working 45 hours per week from 07:00 to 17:00</li> </ul> Skills, qualifications & experience <ul> <li>Must have experience working in civils works on the DNO networks and installation of laying & pulling cables. Including the use of a towable cable drum and powered winches on large motorway schemes where required</li> <li>Must have COPS2 training to undertake the location and excavation around existing utilities with the use of hand digging only</li> <li>Desirable to have a current ECS card or CSCS </li> <li>NRSWA Operative – Units 1-8</li> <li>Good work attitude with the ability to work away from home during the week (with some night working) and be a team player</li> <li>Experience of MCX spec relating to cable installation would be an advantage</li> <li>Desirable to have Winch operator, Lorry loader & 3.5T excavator qualifications</li> </ul> We offer an excellent benefits package including <ul> <li>24 days leave</li> <li>Aviva Private GP consultations</li> <li>Westfield Health cash plan</li> <li>Gym membership discount</li> <li>Pension</li> <li>Company share scheme</li> <li>Cycle to work scheme </li> </ul> Who are we?
