Full job description

We are a well-established Scottish timeshare resort and owners’ club, committed to providing high-quality holiday accommodation and services for our members and guests. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the financial administration of the club.

The Role

Reporting to the Committee, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the resort.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain the club’s accounting records and bookkeeping systems.
Process sales and purchase invoices.
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
Prepare and process payments to suppliers.
Manage owner/member account records and receipts.
Assist with budgeting and cash flow monitoring.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants.
Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
Maintain accurate records in accordance with relevant legislation and club policies.

About you

Proven bookkeeping experience.
Good working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage or QuickBooks).
Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, VAT and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Desirable

AAT qualification or equivalent.
Experience within hospitality, tourism, property management or membership organisations.
Experience working with clubs, associations or timeshare organisations.
Knowledge of Scottish charity, club or unincorporated association accounting requirements.
