Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring a smooth operation during service hours. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional kitchen environment, particularly within the hospitality and restaurant sectors. Previous experience is not essential but an interest in food preparation and cooking is advantageous. The position is paid and suitable for individuals seeking to develop their skills in the culinary industry.

Responsibilities

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to meet health and safety standards
Support the organisation of stock and ingredients within the kitchen
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Help with setting up and clearing down workstations before and after service shifts
Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not mandatory
Familiarity with food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary environments is a plus
Experience working in hospitality or serving roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service standards
Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food hygiene standards
Good organisational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure
