Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a professional culinary environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in their daily tasks. The role is suitable for individuals with an interest in food preparation and hospitality, eager to develop their skills within the industry.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients
Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and organised workspace throughout service
Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Restock supplies and organise storage areas to facilitate efficient kitchen operations
Assist with setting up and clearing down dining areas as required
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous experience desirable
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary techniques is advantageous
Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures is beneficial
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the hospitality sector
