Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where your presence helps uphold safety standards and protect assets.

Responsibilities

Monitor surveillance cameras (CCTV) to observe activity and identify potential security threats
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and ensure safety protocols are followed
Implement loss prevention strategies by identifying suspicious behaviour and preventing theft or vandalism
Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, including providing first aid when necessary
Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate effectively with management and emergency services
Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and authorisation of visitors and staff
Assist in crowd control during events or high-traffic periods, ensuring smooth operations
Conduct routine checks of security equipment to ensure proper functioning

Qualifications

Previous experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is preferred
Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques
Basic first aid certification is desirable
Strong observational skills with the ability to recognise potential threats swiftly
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally
Must be organised, reliable, and attentive to detail
Valid security licence or certification as required by local regulations
