Genevieve's Café | Northampton (Pineham)

Are you passionate about great food and looking for a role where you can continue to learn, develop and make a real impact?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Chef de Partie / Commis Chef to join our growing kitchen team at Genevieve's Café.

This is much more than a standard café chef role. As well as helping deliver our popular breakfast, brunch and lunch service, you'll be involved in developing new dishes, refreshing our menus throughout the year and helping launch an exciting new evening takeaway concept.

About the Role

Working alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef, you'll play an important role in delivering consistently high-quality food while helping us continue to grow our food offering.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and cooking breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard.
Managing your own section during busy service.
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen organisation.
Supporting stock rotation and reducing waste.
Working closely with the kitchen team to deliver excellent service.
Helping develop new dishes and seasonal specials.
Contributing ideas to keep our menus fresh and exciting.
Supporting the launch and growth of our new evening takeaway concept.

Hours

We're looking for someone who is flexible and available to work a combination of weekdays and weekends.

Initially, the role will be approximately 15-20 hours per week while you become familiar with our kitchen and daytime menu.
We plan to launch our new evening takeaway service towards the end of September, after which we expect the role to increase to approximately 25–30 hours per week.
Most daytime shifts are 10:00am–3:00pm, typically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Evening takeaway shifts will usually be:
Fridays: 4:00pm–9:30pm
Saturdays: 2:00pm–9:30pm
Additional hours will be available to cover holidays, busy periods and seasonal demand.

The exact combination of shifts may vary each week depending on the needs of the business.

At Genevieve's Café we're always looking for ways to keep our menu exciting.

Every three months we refresh a selection of our daytime menu, introducing seasonal ingredients, new flavours and dishes that stand out from the typical brunch offering. We encourage everyone in the kitchen to contribute ideas, and you'll have the opportunity to see your own dishes become part of our menu.

Help Shape Our New Evening Takeaway

We're preparing to launch a brand-new Friday and Saturday evening takeaway service, and we want this role to play a key part in its success.

Fresh Pizza
Mexican-inspired dishes
Weekly Specials
