Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Trainee Curtain Maker / Sewing Machinist and embark on an exciting journey into the world of bespoke window treatments and soft furnishings. This paid training position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop practical skills in sewing and manufacturing within a supportive environment. You will learn the craft of creating high-quality curtains and soft furnishings, gaining hands-on experience that can lead to a rewarding career in textile manufacturing and design. No prior experience is necessary—just enthusiasm, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to learn!

Responsibilities

Assist with measuring, cutting, and preparing fabrics for curtain production under supervision
Operate sewing machines safely and accurately to assemble curtain components
Follow detailed instructions to ensure precise stitching, hemming, and finishing of products
Support the team in maintaining a clean, organized workspace to promote efficiency and safety
Learn quality control procedures by inspecting finished items for consistency and craftsmanship
Collaborate with senior team members to understand different fabric types and sewing techniques
Contribute to the overall production process by supporting various stages of curtain assembly as skills develop

Experience

No prior sewing or manufacturing experience required; full training provided
Basic familiarity with warehouse environments or handling materials is advantageous but not essential
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills are essential qualities
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Enthusiasm for developing craftsmanship in textile production or sewing techniques
