Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Locum Pharmacist to join our healthcare team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical services, ensuring patient safety, and supporting clinical teams across various healthcare settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your specialised knowledge and contribute to patient care in a dynamic environment.

GPhC details all needed plus DBS!

Duties

Dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently, adhering to legal and organisational standards
Providing expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
Assisting with medication administration in clinical settings, including ICU environments when required
Monitoring patient responses to prescribed treatments and adjusting medication plans accordingly in collaboration with healthcare professionals
Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date pharmacy records in compliance with regulatory requirements
Supporting the pharmacy team with inventory management, stock control, and procurement processes
Participating in patient care activities such as medication reviews and counselling sessions
Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety protocols, including infection control measures

Skills

Proven experience working as a Pharmacist within hospital or clinical environments
Strong knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, and medication administration procedures
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately
Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced healthcare settings
Organised with meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Proficient in pharmacy software systems and record keeping practices
Flexibility to adapt to varying clinical environments and shift patterns

This position is ideal for a dedicated pharmacist seeking diverse clinical experience while contributing significantly to patient wellbeing. The role requires a professional attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care.
