Commercial Kitchen Manager

Location: Fairhaven Golf Club
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, organised, and motivated Commercial Kitchen Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy commercial kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for food production, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will be responsible for the co-management of the kitchen operation, leading and developing the kitchen team, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, while controlling costs and maximising productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operation of the commercial kitchen.
Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team to achieve high performance.
Support the Head Chef to ensure all food is prepared and presented to company standards.
Maintain compliance with all food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP regulations.
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage supplier relationships.
Control food costs, waste, and labour budgets.
Plan staffing levels and prepare rotas to meet business demands.
Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced appropriately.
Conduct training, performance reviews, and support employee development.
Work closely with senior management to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across kitchen operations.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience managing a commercial or production kitchen.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent knowledge of food safety legislation and HACCP.
Experience managing budgets, stock control, and purchasing.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills.
A hands-on approach with a positive attitude.
Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to obtain).
Health & Safety qualification (desirable).
