About Us

Basrah Lounge is a busy and welcoming restaurant committed to delivering outstanding food, service and customer experiences. We are looking for an organised, proactive and reliable Administrator / Office Manager who will also work closely with management to support the smooth day-to-day running of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the restaurant management team.
Assist the General Manager with the daily operations of the restaurant.
Help oversee the smooth running of front-of-house and back-of-house operations when required.
Answer telephone calls, emails and customer enquiries professionally.
Manage restaurant bookings and assist with event planning.
Organise staff rotas and maintain attendance and holiday records.
Support recruitment by arranging interviews, onboarding new staff and maintaining employee files.
Process invoices, supplier statements and purchase orders.
Liaise with suppliers and place food, beverage and restaurant supply orders.
Maintain accurate filing systems and business records.
Assist with payroll administration and staff documentation.
Prepare reports and update spreadsheets for management.
Ensure licences, compliance documents and health & safety records are up to date.
Support managers in resolving customer queries and complaints professionally.
Help supervise staff during busy periods and provide operational support where needed.
Monitor stock levels and assist with stock ordering and inventory management.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation and customer service are maintained throughout the restaurant.
Carry out any additional administrative or operational duties required to support the management team.

Requirements

Previous experience in administration, office management or hospitality management.
Experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment is desirable.
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload effectively.
Professional, reliable and trustworthy.
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible to assist with restaurant operations when required.
