Full job description

We are looking for a part time GP Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy, friendly team at Green Meadows Surgery in Ascot. The successful candidate's hours will be spread over 5 days, Monday to Friday to include 08:00am starts and 18:30 finishes. The hourly rate for this position is £12.71.

The successful candidate will provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors and staff. To act as the first point of contact for patients coming into the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis, and to ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the Partners and patients.

The main responsibilities will be greeting and directing patients and visitors to the Practice, projecting a positive and friendly image. Receive, assist, and direct all patients and visitors in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective manner, documenting where necessary.

Answering any incoming telephone calls, ensuring all calls are documented correctly.

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice Team.

The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.

Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner respecting patients at all times.

Experience of working as a medical or healthcare receptionist/administrator is desirable.

Confidence to work as part of a team and the ability to "think on your feet"

Strong IT and administration skills.

Some flexibility is desired, as you may sometimes be asked to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

Ability to follow policy and procedure.

Green Meadows Surgery is a busy training practice serving a patient population of 9300 and operating from purpose built premises. We use EMIS web clinical system and are rated Good with CQC. We have 3 partners, 3 salaried GPs, a nursing team of 4 and a large administrative team. We strive to always treat our patients and staff with respect, with teamwork and communication being key.

Job Type: Permanent part-time 25 hrs per week.
