Full job description

We are looking to recruit either 1 full time or 2 part time candidates for this current vacancy.

Applications will close end of play on Tuesday 4th August and Interviews will take place on Monday 10th August.

About Us

Roslea Surgery is an ever expanding and training, 6 doctor GP practice in the heart of Bamber Bridge. We are a friendly, progressive, and forward-thinking practice and are always striving for efficiency and excellence in patient care. You will be joining a well-established administration team who pride themselves on working collaboratively to provide excellent administrative support to the wider practice.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will:

Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to GPs and the wider clinical team.
Process referrals using the NHS Electronic Referral Service (e-RS).
Type and process clinical correspondence, referral letters, and reports.
Manage incoming hospital letters and clinical documents using the practice's clinical system.
Register new patients in accordance with NHS and practice policies.
Process GP2GP electronic transfer requests, ensuring patients' electronic medical records are received, reconciled, and accurately integrated into the clinical system.
Process deductions and patient record transfers in line with NHS registration procedures.
Ensure patient demographic information is accurate and up to date.
Answer telephone calls and respond to patient and healthcare professional enquiries professionally.
Liaise with hospitals, community services, and external agencies regarding patient referrals and appointments.
Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality is upheld.
Support document management, scanning, filing, and workflow administration.
Assist with general office duties and provide cover for other administrative staff when required.
Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the practice by undertaking additional administrative duties appropriate to the role.

Person Specification

Essential

Previous administrative experience.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Professional and courteous manner.
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.

Desirable

Previous experience working within a GP practice or NHS setting.
Experience using EMIS Web
Experience processing patient registrations, deductions, and GP2GP electronic record transfers.
Knowledge of NHS Electronic Referral Service (e-RS).
Medical terminology knowledge.

Full training will be given to the right candidate
