Veterinary Receptionist & Administrator

Full-time | Monday-Friday | No Weekends
East Finchley, London

We are looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist & Administrator to join our independent veterinary practice in East Finchley.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role with no weekends, offering the opportunity to become a valued member of a small, supportive team. As a growing independent practice, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care to our patients and outstanding service to our clients. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with both people and animals, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and is looking for a role with genuine variety and responsibility.

About the role

This is a varied position combining front-of-house reception duties with a significant administrative role. You'll be the first point of contact for our clients and play an important part in ensuring the practice runs smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

Greeting clients and their pets with a warm and professional welcome
Answering telephone and email enquiries
Booking appointments and managing the appointment diary
Taking payments and managing client accounts
Preparing pet travel documentation, including Animal Health Certificates and supporting paperwork
Preparing and processing insurance claims and other client documentation
Assisting with referrals and a range of veterinary administrative tasks
Maintaining accurate clinical and administrative records
Supporting the veterinary team with the smooth day-to-day running of the practice

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

Friendly, approachable and professional
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicating with clients in person and over the phone
Comfortable using computer systems and learning new software
Able to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team
Calm and efficient in a busy environment
Passionate about providing excellent customer service and making a positive difference to our clients and their pets

Reception experience is essential (at least one year's experience is preferred). Previous experience in a veterinary or healthcare setting would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided for the administrative aspects of the role.
