Job Title: Learning and Development Coordinator

Location: Yate/Bristol or Central London
Salary: Depending on experience and location

Reports to: Employment and Development Manager

As part of our growth, we are seeking a dedicated Learning and Development Coordinator

support our Employment and Development Manager with all aspects of HR, training and apprenticeship delivery. This role is ideal for someone passionate about people, skills development, and workforce planning.

Position Overview:

The Learning and Development Coordinator will support the delivery of MCS's apprenticeship, training and development activities across our Bristol and London offices. The role will focus on coordinating and supporting our office-based apprentices, organising internal training programmes, maintaining training records, and providing HR administrative support to the Employment and Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Apprenticeship Coordination

Act as the day-to-day point of contact for office-based apprentices.
Coordinate apprentice inductions and onboarding activities.
Organise regular apprentice review meetings and progress check-ins.
Liaise with training providers, colleges and apprenticeship partners.
Monitor apprentice attendance, progress and completion milestones.
Maintain apprenticeship records and compliance documentation.
Support apprentice recruitment campaigns, interviews and assessment activities.
Organise apprenticeship engagement activities, networking opportunities and development workshops.

Learning and Development

Coordinate the annual training programme and training calendar.
Arrange internal and external training courses, workshops and webinars.
Manage training bookings, joining instructions and attendance records.
Maintain the company training matrix and development database.

Track training completion rates and provide regular reports.
Support the administration of CPD activities across the business.
Assist with competency and skills gap analysis activities.
Support the creation and maintenance of training materials and resources.

HR Administration

Provide administrative support across a range of HR activities.
Assist with onboarding and new starter administration.
Maintain employee records and personnel files.
Support probation reviews and performance review administration.
Prepare letters, forms and HR documentation as required.
Assist with absence tracking and HR reporting.
Support the administration of employee wellbeing initiatives and engagement activities.
Ensure HR records are maintained accurately and confidentially.

Reporting and Compliance

Produce monthly updates on apprenticeships, training activity and development initiatives.
Monitor and maintain compliance with apprenticeship and training requirements.
Support data collection for audits, accreditations and business reporting.
Ensure training records are accurate and up to date.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Previous experience in a learning and development, apprentice or training coordination role.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ability to build positive relationships with apprentices, managers and external providers.
Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Desirable

Experience within HR
Knowledge of apprenticeship programmes and training providers.
Experience within the construction or engineering sector.
CIPD Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards this.
