Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Driver to join our Intake warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle heavy loads. The ideal applicant will have previous warehouse experience and be familiar with warehouse management systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our logistics operations while developing your skills in materials handling and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load and unload goods from lorries, containers, or storage areas
Assist with the organisation and management of stock within the warehouse using warehouse management systems
Handle materials with care, ensuring accurate placement and retrieval of items
Perform basic equipment repairs or maintenance as needed to ensure operational safety and efficiency
Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt
Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any faults or issues for repair
Assist in general warehouse duties including inventory checks, stock rotation, and organising storage areas
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during operations

Requirements

Valid forklift licence with proven experience in operating forklift trucks in a busy warehouse environment
Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, and stock organisation
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Pay: £13.70-£14.20 per hour
