Full job description

Finance Manager

Location: Middleton, Manchester
Salary: upto £60,000 (DOE)

Cheltenham Green Civils is a growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor delivering projects throughout the North West for many of the UK's leading main contractors.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of our finance function and become an integral part of our team.

This is a varied role within a growing business, so no two days are the same. We're looking for someone who is happy to roll their sleeves up and get involved in everything from day-to-day management and financial administration through to management reporting and supporting the Directors.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Purchase and sales ledger
Weekly and monthly payroll
CIS, VAT and HMRC submissions
Credit control and supplier payments
Bank reconciliations
Cashflow management and forecasting
Management accounts and month-end reporting
Supporting year-end accounts preparation
General finance administration
Maintaining financial records and improving processes
Supporting the Directors with financial reporting and day-to-day business operations

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has previous experience in a similar finance role
Ideally has experience within construction or civil engineering
Has a good understanding of CIS, payroll and VAT
Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Is confident using Xero and Microsoft Excel
Is proactive, reliable and able to work on their own initiative
Enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment
Understands that no job is too big or too small and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed
