Full job description

Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre is an award-winning family run garden centre that serves as a destination for the local community in the heart of Somerset. We bring our passion for plants and gardening into your indoor and outdoor living spaces in a shopping environment focused on customer service and family values. We are proud to be home to our award- winning Elm Tree restaurant, our Farm Shop and Pondside Café.

16 - 36 hours per week to include one day at the weekend

Please only apply if available throughout the week and one day at the weekend.

This can be around school drop off and pick up times

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service: Greet guests, take orders, and provide accurate food and drink orders to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and serving food items, following safety and hygiene guidelines.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash and card transactions.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to achieve restaurant goals and provide support to other staff members as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
Positive Attitude: A friendly and helpful demeanour to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Multitasking Ability: Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Dependability: Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to team success.
Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends.

Additional Information

Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant/cafe or kitchen role is preferred.
