The Role

As Junior Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen while helping maintain the high standards our guests expect.

You'll lead by example during service, assist with stock control and ordering, help train and develop junior chefs, and ensure food is consistently prepared to the highest standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking responsibility, mentoring others and continuing to develop their own skills.

Shift Pattern

You'll work a mixture of breakfast, lunch and evening shifts.

Breakfast shifts may start from 6:30am.
Lunch shifts generally begin between 10:00am and 11:00am.
Evening service usually starts from 5:00pm.
The kitchen is typically cleaned down and finished by around 9:30pm, providing an excellent work-life balance compared with many hospitality businesses.
Later starts are available on selected days throughout the week.

Applicants must be able to travel reliably for early morning shifts when required.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience as a strong Chef de Partie looking for their first Junior Sous role, or previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef.
Passion for fresh food and high-quality cooking.
Confidence leading a section during busy services.
The ability to motivate, support and develop junior members of the team.
Excellent organisation and communication skills.
High standards of food hygiene and kitchen organisation.
A positive attitude and a genuine ambition to progress into a Sous Chef position.

Competitive hourly rate or salary, depending on experience.
Service charge paid in addition to basic pay, currently averaging around £2 per hour.
