Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medication management and patient interaction, with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage
Manage stock levels, including receiving deliveries, organising shelves, and ensuring medication expiry dates are monitored
Support with medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient information, and inventory updates
Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims as needed

Qualifications

Previous experience as a pharmacy counter assistant here in the UK is required
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors in prescription handling
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
A recognised qualification or training in pharmacy assistance or related field is desirable but not essential
