Full job description

The Deputy Finance Manager will support the Financial Controller in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with statutory obligations. The role will act as second-in-command within the department, deputising for the Financial Controller when required, and contributing to the financial strategy of Stoke Park to support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
Support budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
Monitor and analyse departmental and operational costs, recommending efficiencies

Compliance & Control

Ensure all financial processes and procedures comply with UK accounting standards, HMRC regulations, and company policies.
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Assist in managing external and internal audits, ensuring full compliance.

Operational Finance

Oversee daily operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll liaison, and banking.
Ensure supplier invoices, payments, and staff reimbursements are processed accurately and on time.
Monitor cash flow and support treasury management.

Leadership & Collaboration

Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing training and support as needed.
Collaborate with Heads of Department to provide financial insight that supports operational decision-making.
Deputise for the Financial Controller in their absence, representing Finance in management meetings and decision forums.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to cost control, profitability, and value creation.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial regulations and best practice.
Promote a positive team culture within the Finance Department and across the business

General Responsibilities:

All employees are expected to be fully familiar with, and adhere to, the hotel’s policies and procedures relating to fire safety, emergency evacuation, first aid, health and safety, and security.
Staff must also ensure they understand and follow the guidance outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as any relevant notices displayed in key operational areas throughout the estate.
