Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Zero Hours Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role offers flexible working hours and involves supporting daily warehouse operations, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping & receiving. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment.

Duties

Assist with materials handling tasks such as picking, packing, stocking, and load & unload activities to ensure efficient workflow.
Operate forklifts safely and effectively for moving heavy or bulky items around the warehouse.
Manage stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to maintain accurate inventory records.
Support shipping & receiving processes by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and inspecting incoming goods for quality control.
Conduct quality checks on products and packaging to uphold company standards.
Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Experience

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is essential.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is desirable.
Mechanical knowledge or experience with basic equipment maintenance is a plus.
Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and load/unload duties reliably.
Demonstrated understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, stock control, and quality assurance processes.
