Overview

this job is not for everyone it can be hard work and labour intensive and we would really like some bread baking experience as its very different from being a chef

We are seeking a dedicated Night Baker to join our bakery team. This role involves preparing high-quality baked goods during the overnight shift, ensuring products meet our standards for freshness, taste, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and food production, with experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills and contribute to a renowned bakery.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and specialised items, during the night shift
Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure timely delivery of fresh products
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food preparation and baking
Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and proofers
Monitor product quality and make adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards
Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations
Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of shortages or expiry dates
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during the night shift

Requirements

Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or baking within a professional kitchen or bakery setting
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to baking and cooking
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key
Ability to work independently during night hours with minimal supervision
Good organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure consistent product quality
Flexibility to work overnight shifts as part of a rotating schedule if required
