About Builders Hardware Direct

Builders Hardware Direct is a trusted supplier of quality builders' hardware, architectural ironmongery, fixings, fasteners, and construction products to trade professionals and businesses. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service, competitive pricing, and building long-term relationships with our customers.

We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Builders Hardware Account Manager & Telesales Executive to join our growing team.

The Role

This is a varied role combining account management, telesales, and customer service. You'll be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, developing new business opportunities, preparing quotations, and helping customers find the right products for their projects.

If you enjoy building relationships, have experience within the builders' merchant or hardware industry, and thrive in a sales environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a portfolio of existing trade accounts.
Proactively contact customers to generate repeat business and identify new opportunities.
Develop new customer relationships through outbound telesales activity.
Prepare quotations and follow them through to conversion.
Provide expert advice on builders' hardware and associated products.
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Work closely with suppliers to source products and maintain stock availability.
Deliver exceptional customer service by phone and email.
Meet and exceed individual sales and margin targets.
Maintain accurate customer records within the CRM system.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Previous experience in a sales, account management, or telesales role.
Experience within builders' merchants, hardware, ironmongery, construction supplies, or a related industry.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Confident telephone manner with a proactive approach to sales.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Desirable:

Knowledge of architectural ironmongery, builders' hardware, fixings, fasteners, or construction products.
Experience using CRM or ERP systems.
Experience working with trade customers and contractors.
