Full job description

We are looking for people who are 'apparently' as good as us!

We are a pub to locals, a restaurant to those who enjoy food and a restful break for those who need peace. We also know how to throw a really good party when we need to.

We are looking for people who are likeminded and who enjoy the buzz of hospitality.

There is never a dull moment at The Bell and this is what we would like for our customers, in whichever role you apply for. So enthusiasm and good customer service is a priority for all candidates. We are always busy so someone who doesn't mind keeping up with the rest of us would be great.

Key tasks and accountability

To supervise a team of people with the of delivery of events
Responsible for the running of the events in the Head of Events absence
When events are not taking place, to assist with the delivery of the restaurant/bar, we typically have 1-3 events per week.
Solely responsible for the evening and close down of the events
The time spent in the restaurant will be acting as Food & Beverage Supervisor working along side the other team members.
To act as a Duty Manager as required
To promote a customer service focused culture
To assist in the management outcomes, customer reviews etc
To ensure the use of current standard operating procedures
Acting as an ambassador for the business
To ensure the effective supervision, motivation, training and development for the team
Responsible for checking in deliveries to the cellar

Experience

Hotel, restaurant, pub or events experience preferred
Events experience preferred
Enthusiasm to progress
Eager to learn
Experience working in busy working environment

Days / Hours

Hours to cover Lunch and Dinner, midweek and weekends.

About Us

The Bell, in the village of Ticehurst is an award winning boutique hotel, pub, restaurant and wedding venue situated on the Kent/Sussex border
Multi award winning and an AA 5 star Gold Accreditation.
2 AA Rosettes and in 2024 Michelin Guide (Food)
40 seat restaurant renowned for serving contemporary English food, 16 bedrooms including 4 lodges, based on local Oast houses.
Outdoor kitchen and bar for the summer months and events.
Popular venue for weddings for up to 90 guests, intimate dinners, parties, lunches, wakes, christenings and gatherings.
The Bell holds approximately 80 events a year
Comedy/film nights, Spring & Winter fairs along with a Summer music festival.
