Trainee MVHR Engineer

Location: Based in Sittingbourne, Kent (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: £24,000 per annum (before tax)

Apex Ventilations Ltd is a specialist ventilation company based in Sittingbourne, Kent, providing high-quality domestic and commercial ventilation solutions across the UK. We pride ourselves on delivering professional installations, outstanding aftercare, and exceptional customer service. Our experienced team works on a wide range of projects, from new-build homes and residential developments to commercial properties, ensuring every system is installed, commissioned and maintained to the highest standard.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee MVHR Engineer to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the ventilation industry. You'll receive full training while working alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of our installation and aftersales services.

The Role

As a Trainee MVHR Engineer, you will work within both our Installation and Aftersales teams, learning the skills required to become a fully qualified and experienced ventilation engineer.

Your duties will include:

Assisting with the installation of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems.
Supporting the installation of a variety of domestic and commercial ventilation systems.
Learning how to commission ventilation systems to ensure they perform efficiently and comply with industry standards.
Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
Assisting with fault finding, diagnostics and repairs.
Replacing and upgrading ventilation units and associated components.
Travelling to customer sites throughout the UK.
Maintaining high standards of workmanship, health & safety, and customer service.
Keeping company vehicles, tools and equipment clean and organised.
Completing job paperwork and learning to use digital job management systems.
Working closely with experienced engineers to develop technical knowledge and practical skills.

Every day is different, with opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects ranging from private homes to large commercial developments.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

Keen to learn and develop a career within the ventilation industry.
Hard-working, reliable and punctual.
Comfortable working on construction sites and in occupied properties.
Professional and courteous when dealing with customers.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Willing to travel across the UK and occasionally stay away overnight if required.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working within the building or construction trade.
Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
Good practical skills and a positive attitude.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Previous experience with ventilation systems is not required, as full training will be provided.
