Senior Creative Strategist

Location: Knowsley, Liverpool (On-site, not hybrid) Level: Senior Reports to: Head of Creative & Strategy Salary: Circa £50,000 DOE Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

Our agency partner is an award-winning independent creative agency with over 15 years of experience delivering standout campaigns across sport, FMCG and fashion. They're passionate about creating work that connects with audiences, drives results and challenges convention, and they're looking for an experienced Senior Creative Strategist to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves uncovering insights, solving business challenges and shaping the thinking behind campaigns that make a genuine impact. You'll combine audience insight, cultural understanding, market research and data with creative thinking to develop strategies that inspire exceptional creative work.

Working closely with Creative, Production, Post-Production and Client Services teams, you'll help define strategic direction across a diverse portfolio of brands, ensuring every campaign is rooted in insight and delivers measurable results.

IMPORTANT: This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic agency environment. You'll be working across multiple projects, balancing competing priorities and collaborating with teams throughout the agency. If you like it calm and predictable, this probably isn't the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Insight

✅ Develop campaign strategies rooted in audience insight, research and cultural understanding.

✅ Identify trends, emerging behaviours and market opportunities that inspire fresh thinking.

✅ Translate research and insight into clear strategic direction and compelling creative briefs.

Client Strategy

✅ Lead discovery sessions, workshops and strategic planning with clients.

✅ Present strategic recommendations confidently to clients and internal teams.

✅ Build trusted relationships by challenging thinking and helping clients solve real business problems.

Campaign Development

✅ Collaborate closely with Creative, Production, Post-Production and Client Services teams throughout every project.

✅ Ensure strategic thinking remains at the heart of campaign development from concept through to execution.

✅ Measure campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Agency Growth

✅ Support new business pitches with strategic thinking and compelling narratives.

✅ Help shape the agency's strategic offering and contribute to continued growth.

What We're Looking For

✅ 5+ years' experience within a creative, brand or integrated agency.

✅ Proven experience developing campaign and brand strategies from insight through to execution.

✅ Strong analytical, research and audience insight capabilities.

✅ Confident presenter with experience leading client workshops and strategic discussions.

✅ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

✅ Strong understanding of consumer behaviour, cultural trends, digital marketing and emerging platforms.

✅ Commercially minded with the ability to balance creative ambition against client objectives.

✅ Naturally curious, with a passion for uncovering insights that lead to exceptional creative work.

IMPORTANT: Experience working in fast-paced, quick-turnaround environments is essential. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, can confidently manage multiple priorities and thrives when collaborating across a busy creative agency.
