Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Steel Door Technician/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing accessories/hardware onto our steel doors, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in metalwork and fabrication to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The position involves working with various tools and contributing to the production of durable and secure steel doors tailored to client specifications.

Responsibilities

Fabricate steel doors and use assembly techniques in accordance with technical drawings and specifications
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
Measure materials accurately using basic maths skills to ensure correct dimensions and fitment
Assemble components meticulously, ensuring all parts meet quality standards before installation or delivery
Conduct quality checks throughout the fabrication process to identify defects or inconsistencies
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations

Qualifications

knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and assembly processes
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment safely
Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of metal properties and fabrication methods
Ability to read technical drawings and apply basic maths for measurements and calculations
Experience working with steel doors or similar metal products is desirable but not essential
Good organisational skills with attention to detail and quality assurance standards
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
