John Scott Meat in Paisley are looking for a Packing Operative

John Scott Meat is a family run business based in Paisley. Specialising in top quality meat, John Scott Meat continues to go from strength to strength with their foundation of trust between the company, its suppliers, and customers never wavering. John Scott Meat delivers meat to quality butchers, wholesalers, and caterers throughout Scotland and the South East of England. Sandyford Abattoir is also part of the business on site which allows John Scott Meat to have complete control of its product from farm to customer.

We are now looking for a Packing Operative who will be a part of a team in a busy meat processing environment who ensures stock is dispatched in a timely, hygienic, professional and accurate manner.

Job summary

Some of the tasks include:

· General duties within a fast paced, high stress environment;

· Weighing, Packaging and Labelling meat products;

· Possible heavy lifting;

· Maintaining a clean working environment;

· Adhering to health and safety regulations;

· Take part in any training required.

Your profile

The ideal candidate will:

· Have a working knowledge of meat including the ability to identify different meats and their various cuts;

· Be comfortable handling raw meat and meat products;

· Have experience in a busy meat packing environment;

· Proficient numeracy skills;

· Be prepared to be on your feet for long periods of time;

· Be prepared to work in a cold environment;

· Have a high level of personal hygiene;

· Have excellent organisational skills;

· Be a team player with an ability to think creatively.

· Be able to communicate effectively with staff and customers.

Job Details

· Working schedule is Monday to Friday from 06.00 to 14.30;

· Permanent position for 40 hours a week;

· 29 days annual leave inclusive of statutory holidays;

· Rate of pay is £12.21 per hour;

· Overtime will be required occasionally.
