Rivendell Care home provides a home for life for our elderly residents.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Cook (Part-Time) to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional food experiences by assisting with food preparation, cooking, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop culinary skills, gain valuable restaurant experience, and contribute to creating memorable meals for our guests. Duties

Assist with food preparation and cooking to ensure timely delivery of dishes that meet quality standards
Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area
Support meal preparation activities, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning foods
Help with serving food to residents in a courteous and efficient manner
Maintain organized workstations and ensure all kitchen equipment is properly used and stored
Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service
Contribute to a positive team environment by staying energetic, proactive, and attentive to detail

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen work is preferred but not required; training will be provided
Familiarity with culinary techniques and meal assembly processes is advantageous
Experience working in a food service setting demonstrates strong customer service skills
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling of ingredients is a plus
Serving experience is beneficial for understanding resident needs and delivering excellent service
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
This job would suit someone looking for 2 days a week. Being a friendly team worker with a positive attitudes is key. Extra hours may be available in an alternative role if required and during holiday cover..
