Out of Hours Client Liaison Officer (Response Team)

Base One Response

Work Location: Mobile role across Brighton & Hove, Worthing, Adur & Arun.

Starting Salary: £29,000 per annum

Full Time - 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Working pattern: 4day's on / 4day's off - 7:00pm – 7:00am

At Base One Response, we believe the support someone receives at 2am is just as important as the support they receive at 2pm.

We're looking for compassionate, resilient and professional individuals to join our growing Response Team, providing out-of-hours welfare support, safeguarding, incident response and operational assistance across supported housing and emergency accommodation.

This is not a static security role. Every shift is different, combining practical support with rapid response to help vulnerable adults remain safe, supported and settled.

About Base One Response

Base One Response delivers professional out-of-hours services across Sussex, working alongside local authorities, housing providers and partner agencies.

Our officers support adults experiencing homelessness, mental ill health, substance misuse, domestic abuse and multiple disadvantage, combining operational professionalism with a trauma-informed, person-centred approach.

The Role

As an Out of Hours Client Liaison Officer, you'll be the operational point of contact outside normal office hours, responding to welfare concerns, emergencies and property issues while ensuring residents receive the support they need until daytime services resume.

You'll work independently, make confident decisions and represent Base One Response with professionalism and compassion.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and responsive welfare visits.
Respond to emergencies, incidents and urgent call-outs.
Welcome and settle residents arriving out of hours.
Conduct mobile patrols, property inspections and security checks.
Resolve lockouts, access issues and property concerns.
Identify and report safeguarding concerns.
Complete accurate reports and detailed handovers.
Build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.

About You

Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence.
Experience working in a welfare, housing, support, health or social care environment.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a 4 on / 4 off rota.

Desirable

Experience in supported housing, homelessness, mental health, substance misuse or residential support.
Current First Aid qualification.
Valid SIA Licence (not essential – company-funded training provided).
