Transport Planner

PR4 6HP | Monday to Friday | £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for a new challenge with real scope to make your mark? We are an established produce and storage business that is now growing and developing its transport

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with genuine growth ambitions. As we expand, you will be fundamental to that growth, playing a key role in shaping the future structure of our transport function. It's an exciting, hands-on role, and you'll be fully supported by our existing company infrastructure as you grow into it.

The Role

Based on-site at PR4 6HP, you will plan and manage tramper and day drivers across multiple loading and delivery points throughout the UK. You will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone to support out-of-hours contact.

Plan all of the vehicles and drivers
Manage the workload/versus available vehicles
Manage driver rotas, workload, nights out and expenses
Oversee day-to-day compliance (drivers' hours, tachograph, vehicle checks)
Manage customer enquiries and coordinate jobs
Provide spot quotes for customers
Liaise with maintenance providers to keep the fleet on the road
Support the recruitment of drivers
Build strong customer relationships and identify new work opportunities

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in transport planning, ideally covering both tramper and day driver operations
Strong knowledge of UK road transport compliance (drivers' hours, tachograph rules)
Experience managing multi-drop/multi-collection UK operations
Excellent communication skills and a confident, customer-focused approach
Ability to work flexibly, including availability out of hours via mobile
Full UK driving licence (desirable)
