About the Role
Logica Soft Limited is looking for a technically capable and detail-focused Device Repair Technician to join its IT Support department.
The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, configure and test a range of Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac and associated peripherals.
The role will initially focus primarily on iPhone and iPad hardware repairs and iOS/iPadOS troubleshooting. The Technician will then be expected to develop or demonstrate broader competency in Mac hardware, macOS support and more advanced Apple-device diagnostics.
This is a hands-on technical position suited to someone with practical repair experience, strong problem-solving skills and an interest in developing their expertise across the Apple product range.
Key Responsibilities
iPhone and iPad Repair
- Diagnose hardware and software faults affecting iPhone and iPad devices.
- Inspect and test devices to identify the cause of reported problems.
- Repair or replace serviceable components, including displays, batteries, cameras, speakers, microphones and charging-related components.
- Diagnose problems involving charging, battery performance, displays, cameras, audio and connectivity.
- Perform pre-repair and post-repair diagnostic testing.
- Configure repaired, replacement and refurbished devices.
- Escalate faults that require specialist or more advanced intervention.
iOS and iPadOS Support
- Diagnose and troubleshoot iOS and iPadOS issues.
- Perform authorised operating-system updates, restores and recovery procedures.
- Resolve device-configuration, application, connectivity and performance issues.
- Assist with authorised data backup, restoration and migration.
- Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and peripheral-connectivity problems.
- Provide users with clear technical support and device-configuration assistance.
Mac and macOS Support
- Diagnose hardware and software faults affecting MacBook, iMac, Mac mini and other supported Mac systems.
- Inspect and test Mac systems to identify hardware failures and performance problems.
- Repair or replace serviceable components, including displays, batteries, storage devices, memory, keyboards and trackpads.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot macOS and supported software.
- Perform operating-system, firmware and software updates.
- Carry out authorised system recovery, backup, restoration and data migration.
- Configure new, repaired and refurbished Mac devices.
- Develop competency in more advanced Mac diagnostics and repairs through training and practical experience.
General Responsibilities
- Use appropriate diagnostic software, tools and repair equipment.
- Follow established repair procedures and manufacturer guidance.
- Ensure every repaired device is fully tested before being returned to use.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, parts replaced and testing completed.
- Update repair tickets and internal systems promptly and accurately.
- Maintain appropriate control of spare parts, components, tools and equipment.
- Handle customer devices and information securely.
- Follow data-protection, information-security, electrical-safety and equipment-handling procedures.
- Explain technical faults and proposed solutions clearly to customers, colleagues and management.
- Keep technical knowledge current across Apple hardware, iOS, iPadOS and macOS.
- Undertake other reasonable technical duties consistent with the role.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Practical experience or strong technical knowledge of smartphone, tablet or computer diagnosis and repair.
- Good knowledge of iPhone and iPad hardware.
- Understanding of iOS and iPadOS configuration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose hardware and software faults systematically.
- Practical ability to repair or replace device components.
- Understanding of displays, batteries, cameras, charging systems, storage and memory.
- Ability to use hardware and software diagnostic tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and repair procedures accurately.
- Good technical documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Understanding of secure data and device handling.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience repairing Apple devices, smartphones, tablets or computers.
- A relevant qualification in IT, electronics, computer hardware, engineering or a related discipline.
- Apple-related technical training, certification or demonstrable repair experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing iPhone and iPad devices.
- Experience with iOS and iPadOS recovery and restoration.
- Experience diagnosing or repairing Mac hardware.
- Working knowledge of macOS.
- Basic networking and device-connectivity knowledge.
- Experience with data migration, system recovery or device refurbishment.
Training and Development
The position offers progressive technical development across the Apple product range.
Depending on the successful candidate’s existing experience, initial competency development may focus on iPhone and iPad repairs and iOS/iPadOS troubleshooting. The Technician will subsequently be expected to develop broader skills in Mac hardware, macOS support and more advanced diagnostic and repair work.
Progression to more complex repairs will depend on demonstrated competency, relevant training and the ability to complete work safely and to the required technical standard.
