Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the head chef in preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily food production. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and hospitality to develop their skills within a professional environment. The Assistant Chef will contribute to maintaining high standards of food safety, presentation, and customer satisfaction.

Duties

Assist in preparing a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and quality standards
Supervise and manage kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and teamwork
Oversee food production processes, including cooking, plating, and presentation
Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Support the head chef in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
Assist with training new staff members and provide leadership on the kitchen floor
Serve food to customers when required, maintaining excellent customer service standards
Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
Knowledge of culinary techniques and presentation standards
Familiarity with restaurant operations and serving procedures
Previous experience in food production and kitchen management is advantageous
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members
