Are you passionate about ensuring children and young people have fair access to education? Do you enjoy solving complex problems, coordinating multiple priorities and working collaboratively with a wide range of partners to make a real difference to families?

We're looking for an Admissions Coordinator to join our School Admissions Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in coordinating Fair Access Protocol (FAP) processes and supporting statutory school admissions. You'll combine strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to provide specialist advice to schools, parents, colleagues and partner agencies, ensuring admissions are managed fairly, consistently and within statutory timescales.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. From coordinating multi-agency meetings and managing complex casework to analysing information and supporting service improvements, you'll play a vital role in helping children and young people access education as quickly as possible.

This is a full-time position working within a supportive team, with a hybrid approach to working where service needs allow.

What you'll be doing

As an Admissions Coordinator, you'll play a central role in delivering an effective admissions service by:

Coordinating Fair Access Protocol cases from referral through to placement, ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
Organising and supporting Fair Access Panels and other multi-agency meetings, preparing agendas, reports and recording outcomes.
Providing specialist advice and guidance to parents, carers, schools and partner organisations on admissions legislation and processes.
Building positive relationships with schools and partner agencies to support children in accessing education quickly and fairly.
Analysing admissions data and case information to support informed decision-making and continuous service improvement.
Representing the Admissions Service at meetings, appeals, stakeholder groups and community events, including delivering presentations and information sessions.
Supporting wider admissions activities and contributing ideas that improve services, processes and customer experience.

You'll be joining a knowledgeable and collaborative team committed to delivering excellent customer service and ensuring every child has access to education.

What you'll need

We're looking for someone who is organised, customer-focused and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

You'll ideally have:

Experience providing advice and guidance to customers, schools, professionals or partner agencies.
Experience coordinating meetings, panels or complex processes involving multiple stakeholders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and confidently.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet statutory deadlines.
The ability to analyse information, use sound judgement and make well-reasoned decisions.
Experience using Microsoft Office and IT systems to manage information and produce accurate reports.
A collaborative approach, with the confidence to build positive relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
A commitment to providing excellent customer service, maintaining confidentiality and supporting continuous improvement.

Experience of working within school admissions, education or another statutory service is desirable but not essential, provided you can demonstrate the ability to quickly develop knowledge of relevant legislation and processes.
