Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientated Accounts Payable Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Your expertise will help streamline financial operations, support functions related to vendor management, and uphold the integrity of our accounting software systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in accounting software platforms and contribute to the overall financial health of our organisation.

Initially, this will be a full-time role, with a view to go part-time to cover sickness.

Responsibilities

Process and verify invoices using accounting software such as Sage 200, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
Enter data meticulously into accounting systems to maintain up-to-date records
Reconcile accounts payable transactions regularly and prepare analysis reports to identify discrepancies or potential issues
Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment inquiries promptly
Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including preparing reports
Maintain organized records of all transactions, invoices, and related correspondence for audit purposes

Experience

Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage and EQUE2 is highly desirable
Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated analysis skills for reviewing financial transactions and identifying discrepancies
Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and best practices in a corporate environment
