Salary: £46,119.44 per annum (+ Bonus

Leeds

4 days Monday-Thursday then Tuesday-Friday

Hours 6am-6pm with 60 min unpaid break

An exciting opportunity has become available at NRG Riverside within our Leeds depot and we are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join the team and help us on our journey to growth. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. Who will you be working for?

NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company, we provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and we offer a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale. NRG Riverside has the skills, knowledge, and expertise to support all your operational needs. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.

What candidate are we looking for?

o Experience from within a HGV Technician/ Mechanic role

o Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great, but not essential

o Experience working on Municipal / Refuse Vehicles, Hook-loaders, Skip Vehicles etc is a plus.

o Vehicle / Trailer Repairs, Safety Inspections, Oil & Filter Services and wheel etc

o HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.

o Class 2 licence preferred.

o Experience of working in a similar role within the HGV industry.

o Excellent customer service.

o Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative.

o Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.

What will be your duties?

o Undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers vehicles within the NRG workshop estate

o Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test

o Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard

o Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
