Join the Team at the Baytree Hotel & Bar & Grill, Llandudno

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and passionate Chef to join our established kitchen team at the Baytree Hotel.

This is a varied role that combines hotel catering with a busy public restaurant, making it ideal for a chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a wide range of food service.

About the Role

Our kitchen operates across several services:

Hotel Guests – We cater for busy coach and leisure groups throughout the week, serving a three-course evening meal every night. Meals are pre-ordered, allowing for efficient service while maintaining high standards.
Breakfast – A buffet breakfast is served daily for our hotel guests.
Lunch Service – Our popular lunch menu is available Tuesday to Saturday, from 12:00pm until 3:00pm.
Bar & Grill – Open to the public on Friday and Saturday evenings, serving an à la carte menu from 5:00pm, with the last tables seated at 8:00pm.
Sunday Carvery – Served every Sunday from 12:00pm until 6:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes across breakfast, lunch, dinner and carvery services.
Assisting with menu planning, stock ordering and stock rotation.
Ensuring all food is prepared consistently to agreed recipes and presentation standards.
Maintaining excellent portion control while minimising food waste.
Advising colleagues and guests on ingredients and allergen information.
Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
Completing all food safety records, including temperature monitoring, stock rotation and storage procedures.
Working closely with the other chefs and kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

Previous experience as a Commis Chef, Chef de Partie or similar role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant environment.
A good understanding of food safety legislation and HACCP procedures.
Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent).
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and work efficiently during busy service periods.
A positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position working on a rota basis, including weekends. Flexibility is essential, as shifts may include breakfast, lunch and evening services depending on the needs of the business.
