About Us

Elite Plastics is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of bespoke polythene films, bags and covers. We're looking for a detail-oriented Sales Ledger Assistant to join our finance team and support the smooth running of our accounts receivable function.

Role Overview

The Sales Ledger Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate sales ledger records, processing customer invoices, and supporting credit control activities. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong numerical skills and an eye for detail to develop their career within a finance function, with scope for quick progression.

Key Responsibilities

Raise and process delivery notes, proformas, sales invoices and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner
Post customer receipts and allocate cash against invoices
Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger, ensuring records are accurate and up to date
Investigate and resolve invoice queries and discrepancies
Oversee credit control, chasing overdue payments and monitoring credit limits
Liaise with customers and internal departments to resolve billing issues
Process new customers on our systems
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as required
Maintain accurate filing and record-keeping in line with company procedures

Key Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a similar finance role
Good working knowledge of Sage accounting software
Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables an advantage)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work to deadlines and manage a busy workload
AAT qualification or working towards it (desirable, not essential)

A team player who can also work independently
Proactive approach to problem-solving
Professional and confident when liaising with customers
