Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Stores Person within a small business in the Marine industry and become a vital part of our logistics and warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for managing stock, handling materials, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. Your proactive approach will help maintain an organised, safe, and efficient warehouse environment, supporting our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in materials handling, inventory management, and heavy lifting.

Duties

Receive, load, unload, and store incoming shipments using forklifts and manual handling techniques
Operate our stock management system to track inventory levels, stock movements, and order processing
Pick and pack items accurately for outgoing shipments, ensuring timely delivery to clients or sites
Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records to prevent discrepancies
Assist with shipping and receiving processes by preparing documentation and coordinating with transport providers
Handle materials safely using mechanical knowledge and proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries
Maintain a clean, organised warehouse environment by stocking shelves and disposing of packaging waste appropriately

Experience

Proven experience working in a warehouse or storage environment with familiarity in stock management and materials handling
Valid forklift certification with demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand equipment operation and perform basic repairs if needed
Experience in construction or heavy industry environments is desirable but not essential
Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards
Prior experience with shipping & receiving processes, including load & unload procedures
