In-Person Private Tutor – Solihull & Surrounding Areas
£30–£42 per hour | Flexible hours | Part-time / Freelance

GoodGrade Tutors is expanding its in-person tutoring network across Solihull and surrounding areas. We are looking for academically outstanding tutors to provide high-quality one-to-one tuition to students locally.

This is a flexible opportunity designed to fit around your studies, career or other commitments. You choose your availability and which tutoring opportunities you accept, while GoodGrade handles finding and matching you with suitable students.

What you'll do

Deliver high-quality, one-to-one, in-person tuition
Tutor subjects and levels matching your academic expertise
Support students from primary level through to GCSE and A-Level, depending on your experience
Tailor lessons to each student's ability, curriculum and academic goals
Help students develop subject knowledge, confidence and exam technique
Provide reliable, professional and engaging tuition

What we offer

£30–£42 per hour
Flexible hours based around your availability
Choose which tutoring opportunities you accept
Students matched based on subject, level, location and availability
Opportunities close to where you live
No need to advertise or find your own students
Take on as many or as few suitable students as your availability allows

Who we're looking for

Applicants must be currently studying at, or have graduated from, a Russell Group university.

We're particularly interested in candidates with strong academic backgrounds in Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics and other commonly tutored subjects.

This opportunity may be particularly suitable for University of Birmingham students and graduates living in or around Solihull, as well as graduates from other Russell Group universities.

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is desirable, but exceptional candidates without formal tutoring experience are also encouraged to apply.

You should:

Have excellent subject knowledge
Be able to explain difficult concepts clearly and patiently
Be reliable, personable and professional
Be comfortable travelling locally for in-person lessons
Have strong communication skills
Be committed to helping students achieve excellent academic outcomes

Location

There is no requirement to report to a GoodGrade office. Tutors are matched with students across Solihull and surrounding areas and can choose opportunities based on their location, availability and willingness to travel.

Pay

£30–£42 per hour, depending on the tutoring assignment and applicable rate.
