About Us

We are a growing crane hire, contract lifting, and plant movement company based in Basildon. We provide specialist lifting, transportation, and mechanical movement services to customers across Essex and the surrounding areas.Working closely with our Office Manager, the successful candidate will provide vital day-to-day administrative support to handle our fast-paced workload. We are looking for an experienced, organised, and proactive Office Administrator to join our busy team and play an important role in the daily running of the business.

The Role

This is a varied, office-based position ideally suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and feels completely confident communicating with customers, suppliers, and drivers.You will support the daily administration of the business, manage a high volume of direct enquiries, and help coordinate crane and plant movement schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Communication & Enquiries: Answering incoming phone calls and responding to emails in a professional, confident manner.
Customer Service: Managing day-to-day customer, builder, and supplier enquiries, ensuring every interaction is handled professionally.
Quotations & Sales Support: Preparing job quotations, processing orders, and proactively following up on warm leads and existing enquiries.
Logistics & Scheduling: Booking, coordinating, and updating job schedules for crane, transport, and plant movements.
Relationship Coordination: Liaising cleanly between customers, suppliers, crane operators, and transport companies to keep logistics running smoothly.
Office Administration: Handling accurate data entry, maintaining meticulously organized job records, and assisting with invoicing and purchase orders.
Team Support: Supporting the wider management team with daily administrative duties to maintain an efficient office environment.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

Proven Experience: Previous office administrative experience within a plant hire, construction, transport, or logistics environment is essential.
Communication Skills: A confident, professional, and assertive telephone manner.
Organisation: Sharp attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritise a busy, reactive workload.
Tech-Savvy: Highly comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and picking up general computer database systems quickly.
Teamwork: The ability to work independently on administrative tasks while being a supportive player in a tight team.
Attitude: A positive, practical, and helpful approach to daily problem-solving.

Desirable (Sales Advantage):

Commercial Mindset: Previous sales or proactive customer service experience is a massive advantage.
Industry Knowledge: Prior exposure to crane hire, lifting operations, haulage, or job scheduling management systems.
