Role Purpose
As a Business Development Executive, your role is to help Welcomm grow by finding new potential customers. You’ll do this through proactive research, outreach, and phone calls, aiming to understand customer needs in order to set up valuable meetings for the Business Development Managers (BDMs).
Role Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Research - Identify and research potential business opportunities through outbound activity, including cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn engagement, and social media.
Initial Engagement - Connect with prospects to uncover needs and pain points, introducing Welcomm’s value proposition and sparking interest in our solutions.
Pipeline Building - Proactively create and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects. Ensure consistent follow-up and nurture early-stage leads to keep opportunities moving forward.
Appointment Generation - Convert qualified leads into high-quality appointments for Business Development Managers (BDMs), ensuring they have all relevant insights for successful meetings.
CRM Management - Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and pipeline activity in our CRM system to support forecasting and future engagement.
Collaboration - Work closely with BDMs and Marketing to execute outreach strategies and deliver a seamless experience for prospects.
Performance & KPIs - Achieve defined KPIs for outbound activity, lead generation, and CRM hygiene, contributing to monthly and quarterly team targets.
Learning & Development - Engage in L&D sessions (including CQMs), embrace feedback, and apply new techniques to improve performance. Work with the Sales Director to shape a personal development plan and pursue ongoing learning.
Team Culture - Support colleagues and new starters, sharing best practices and contributing to a positive team culture.
Education and Skills/Qualifications
- English and Maths GCSE (Essential)
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Essential)
- Great active listening skills.
- Experience in a customer facing role, i.e. customer service, retail or hospitality (Beneficial)
- Experience in telesales and cold calling (Beneficial)
