About us

The Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) combines the strengths of UCL’s basic biological and preclinical sciences and is associated with 11 Nobel Laureates. Our work focuses on trying to answer some of the most enduring questions about life on earth, and also to solve the urgent problems faced by all living things. Our research spans an incredible breadth of scientific areas, from studies of the behaviour of single molecules, to developing cells, neuronal circuits, and up to entire ecosystems full of living things. We are supported by platform technologies and facilities ranging from advanced electron microscopy to a research centre on a National Trust nature reserve.

Our students are closely integrated into our community through research-embedded teaching, including our highly rated, and world-leading undergraduate programmes, a UK-leading MPharm degree, as well as a wide range of exciting Master's programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Education Administration and Student Experience Team (EASE). The Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) EASE team is made up of five areas: Clinical, Programmes, Research, Learning Technology and Student Wellbeing & Casework. The team is led by three Education Managers and supported by Education Coordinators across the teams. You will work in a collaborative and innovative team who are committed to excellence in customer service.

About the role

We’re looking for a brilliant and proactive Education Administrator to support the administration and delivery of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes across the Faculty of Life Sciences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to develop their skills and build a rewarding career within the new FLS Education Administration and Student Experience (EASE) team.

You'll be an organised and student-focused individual and play a key role in managing the academic cycle, from induction and timetabling to assessments and exam boards, while providing responsive support to students and staff. You’ll work closely with academic leads to ensure smooth programme delivery and may also contribute to student engagement activities such as socials, field trips, and open days.

There’s also scope to support improvement projects using Excel and Power Apps, and to collaborate across the wider team when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting admissions, enrolment, and timetabling
Supporting in person assessments and exam boards
Liaison with academics, external stakeholders and wider UCL
Responding to student and staff queries
Contribute to wider activities across the Programme and EASE Team and support other programmes as needed

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role. Flexibility is essential, as there will be peak periods, particularly around student-facing activities, when increased on-campus presence will be required.
