Full job description

Stephen Sanderson Transport Ltd is looking for a motivated Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our growing team across our Corby sites. This is a hands‑on, varied role supporting the smooth flow of inbound and outbound freight within a busy, safety‑critical environment.

If you enjoy practical work, take pride in accuracy, and thrive outdoors, this could be the perfect role for you - around 80% of your time will be spent outside loading and unloading vehicles in the yard.

Key Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and company equipment safely and in line with procedures
Safely and efficiently load and tip inbound and outbound vehicles
Receive and reconcile in‑house deliveries
Quality check stock and allocate to correct warehouse locations
Handball, pick and pack orders as required
Report any incidents involving people, property, or stock to your Team Leader
Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping across warehouse and yard areas
Provide cover across multiple local sites during holidays or sickness
Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and freight handling protocols

Requirements

Valid or previous forklift licence
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
Positive, proactive “can‑do” attitude
Ability to use initiative and work reliably

Shifts & Pay

Permanent, full‑time position – minimum 45 hours per week
Shift available: 09:00–19:00
Annual pay between £30,000–£33,000, including weekly bonus

Additional Information

All successful applicants will be required to take a Drug & Alcohol test on their first day as part of the induction process. A negative result is required to commence employment. This is due to the safety‑critical nature of the role and is conducted in accordance with company policy and data protection legislation.
