Job Overview

Here at the Roker Hotel we are looking for a Housekeeping Assistant who will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services across various areas, ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive experience for everyone who visits or works here. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in commercial cleaning and janitorial services while being part of a supportive team dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing all designated areas.
Maintain cleanliness of restrooms by replenishing supplies, disinfecting fixtures, and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
Handle waste disposal efficiently, ensuring bins are emptied regularly and waste is disposed of properly.
Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively to achieve optimal results.
Follow established health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Report any maintenance issues or damages promptly to ensure timely repairs and uphold cleanliness standards.
Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleans as scheduled or requested by supervisors.

Experience

Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and steam cleaners is advantageous.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining hygiene standards.
Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment throughout the shift.
